Wednesday morning snapshot

A snapshot of the early morning's equity news and key market movements.

Last night in the US: The Dow Jones closed up five points at 15,567, the NASDAQ finished down 21 points at 3579 and the US 500 closed down three points at 1692.

This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently up 25 points at 6622.

FX and commodities: GBP/USD is up 11 pips at $1.5378, EUR/USD is down 11 pips at $1.3211 and USD/JPY is up 23 pips at Y99.87. Brent Crude is down eight cents at $108.37 and gold is trading at $1344, down $1.

Stocks: easyJet announced a 10.5% increase in third-quarter revenue. Kingfisher is on track to hit expectations for the first half.

The day ahead: In Europe, UK CBI industrial order expectations are due out at 11am.

In the US, manufacturing PMI is due out at 2pm, followed by new home sales at 3pm (all times London times).
