IG offers a simple and secure way to invest in digital assets through its partnership with Independent Reserve. The service is designed around three core actions: Buy, Hold, and Sell, providing straightforward access to cryptocurrency investing.

To open an account, you must:

• Be an Australian resident. In some cases, you may need to provide proof of address (such as a recent utility bill, bank statement, or government correspondence showing your full name and address within the last six months) 
  

• Must meet standard account opening procedures by providing identity information and verification, along with any additional checks required based on your individual circumstances

Yes. You must download the IG Markets mobile app to trade cryptocurrencies. Crypto trading is not available on the IG Trading app or the web platform.

Step 1 - Application Procedure

• Complete the online application via the IG Markets app

• The form captures personal information, contact details, employment status, financial background

Step 2 - Document Requirements

• Provide valid proof of identity: passport, driving license, or national identity card

• Provide valid proof of address: Recent utility bill (not older than three months), bank statement, or government correspondence (within 6 months)

• Ensure documents are clear, legible, and show the full name matching your application

Existing IG clients will need to set up their Crypto Account through the IG Markets mobile app. 

Note: Crypto accounts cannot be added within existing IG Trading accounts.

IG's cryptocurrency service provides access to many of the most established coins. The available cryptocurrencies include:

• Litecoin (LTC) 

• Plus, many more established and emerging coins to come

The maximum amount per individual trade is AUD $50,000. For larger investments, multiple trades can be placed.

Yes. Cryptocurrency investing on IG Markets is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please note there is a weekly maintenance window from 10:00pm Friday to 8:00am Saturday (UK time), during which trading may be unavailable.

We are launching with bank transfer (OSKO), BPAY and PayID as the deposit options.

We will be adding more payment methods shortly, including:

Corporate accounts support bank transfer (OSKO), BPAY and PayID deposits only.

The minimum investment amount for cryptocurrency investing on IG is $2 AUD.

5. Complete payment: Log in to your bank, then use our details to transfer funds
