An IG ISA has nothing to hide: we’ll show you your total cost of ownership (TCO) before you invest, and you can check in and see where your money’s invested at any time. There are no hidden platform or exit fees.
Your capital is at risk. The value of shares, ETFs and ETCs can fall as well as rise, which could mean getting back less than you originally put in.
You can either select your own investments in a share dealing ISA, or you can let our experts make the decisions on your behalf with an IG Smart Portfolio ISA.
Open an IG ISA to invest at the same great commission rates as our share dealing account, but without paying capital gains tax on your profits.
Open an IG Smart Portfolio and select ISA to add a tax-free wrapper to your fully managed portfolio.
As our share dealing ISA and IG Smart Portfolio ISA are counted as a single stocks and shares ISA, you can invest up to £20,000 between them in 2022/23.1
Withdraw from your stocks and shares ISA without forfeiting the amount from your allowance.
We’re a financially robust, FTSE 250 company with a 24-hour helpdesk.

If you’re a UK resident over the age of 18, you’ll have a tax-free ISA allowance of £20,000 during the 2022/23 tax year.1 You can invest all of this in a stocks and shares ISA, split it between a stocks and shares ISA and a cash ISA, or invest it all in a cash ISA.
If you invest in a stocks and shares ISA, any profits you make will be free from capital gains tax. There’s also no tax to pay on any income from dividends, even if you’re a higher- or additional-rate tax payer. Outside of an ISA, you'd only get a £5000 tax-free dividend income allowance – anything above that and higher- and additional-rate taxpayers would pay 25% and 30.56% respectively.
At IG we offer two types of stocks and shares ISA. With our share dealing ISA you can invest in more than 13,000+ global shares and ETFs – making your own investment decisions to try and generate positive returns. With an IG Smart Portfolio ISA, our experts will manage a globally diversified ETF portfolio on your behalf, in a way that suits your risk profile. We build IG Smart Portfolios exclusively with ETFs, as their low cost and transparent nature make them the ideal building blocks for a risk-controlled investment portfolio.
Yes. You can easily transfer an existing stocks and shares or cash ISA held with another provider to us. Your ISA will retain its remaining allowance and tax benefits,1 and there are no hidden charges from us for transferring.4 Find out how to transfer an existing ISA into our share dealing ISA.
ISA rules state that you can only pay into a single stocks and shares ISA each tax year. You are free to open an additional ISA with a different provider each new tax year, but can only pay money into one.
With IG, you can invest in a single stocks and shares ISA via two separate account types: share dealing and/or an IG Smart Portfolio. This means that if it suits your investment strategy to do so, you can open an IG Smart Portfolio and share dealing account in the same tax year and split your annual ISA allowance between them.
