Chip shortages may not be behind lagging auto sales
With a lithium auction in Australia showing the buoyancy in battery metals generally, and lithium in specific, IGTV’s Jeremy Naylor talks to SP Angel’s John Meyer about what’s driving prices.
Meyer also looks at the weak Chinese data and says that retail sales, while still growing, are slowing because of a consumer move to electric vehicles (EVs).
He says rather than suffering from a shortage of computer chips, he believes consumers are not buying combustion cars as they are waiting for more suitable and affordable EVs to come onto the market.
