London, Thursday 31st July - Investing and trading platform IG has launched a podcast featuring a panel of industry veterans who will build an investment portfolio in real time and share how they do it.
The series - The Art of Investing - is part of a broader campaign from IG to get more people engaged with financial markets, with the podcast catering to beginners and intermediate investors.
Hosted by IG’s Richard McDonald, a former hedge fund manager with Brevan Howard, the panel features Chris Fellingham - ex-BlackRock and Soros Fund Management - and Mark Holden, former Investment Director at Standard Life. Together, they bring over 100 years of industry experience to the table.
Each episode will see the trio debate the latest market trends, explain investing topics to listeners and draw on engaging stories from their decades in the industry to give listeners actionable insights. The conversation will cover every major asset class - from bonds and equities to commodities and cryptocurrencies - making complex markets accessible to investors of all levels.
The hosts will also walk through their allocation decisions for their ‘Model Portfolio’, explaining the rationale for selecting certain assets.
The episodes are published on multiple platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
Podcast host and IG Commentator Richard McDonald said: “We didn’t want to make just another investing podcast. So we ran an experiment: bring two of the City’s sharpest minds and most decorated investors together, get them to agree on a portfolio, and see what happens.
“Mark and Chris have over 100 years of experience managing money at the highest level, and they don’t always see eye to eye - which is exactly the point. The Art of Investing brings listeners inside the room as they debate real decisions, in real time, with a real performance target - all while delivering invaluable lessons and priceless anecdotes as they discuss the topics of the day.
“Whether you’re new to investing or want to sharpen your thinking, this is financial education without the fluff - just the conversations serious investors actually have.”
