IG adds oil to weekend trading, allowing customers to respond to fast-moving geopolitical events
London, Friday 13th June - Global investing and trading platform IG has added oil to its weekend trading markets, giving clients access to live prices and the ability to hedge risk outside of standard hours.
The new offering allows traders to respond to geopolitical developments, supply disruptions, and breaking news as they happen, rather than waiting for the oil market to reopen on Sunday evening.
Oil remains one of the world’s most actively traded and event-driven commodities, and weekend trading enables clients to manage their positions more effectively during periods of heightened uncertainty and volatility.
Chris Tripp, Commercial Director at IG Group, said: “Just because markets close for the weekend, it doesn’t mean the news stops. Geopolitical developments and economic shifts can happen at any time - and our clients want the ability to respond.
