IG launches ‘foundation’ to support struggling HENRYs

London, 31 March 2026 – Investing and trading platform IG is today announcing a first-of-its-kind initiative to support a demographic struggling under the weight of the UK’s distorted tax system: HENRYs (High Earners, Not Rich Yet).

Launched as part of IG’s wider campaign to tackle the £100k cliff edge, the HENRY Foundation will act as a vital lifeline for an overlooked and often dismissed cohort of workers.

As seen in the HENRY Foundation’s launch video, released today, the initiative highlights the financial pressures faced by millions of middle-to-high earners across the UK.

To front the foundation, IG teamed up with British comedian Josh Berry. For a short time only, Berry will embody the role of Henry - a middle-class activist fighting for the rights of those teetering on the £100k threshold.

Of course, the HENRY Foundation isn’t a real charity - but the issues it highlights are.

The launch forms part of a new humour-led Instagram content series from IG, designed to raise awareness of the real-life impact of the £100k tax cliff edge.

The series follows Henry conducting street interviews with the gilet-wearing corporate cohort to uncover their financial woes. Inspired by these stories, Henry creates a made-for-TV-style charity ad, attempting to draw sympathy from the masses. Furthering his outreach, this middle-class activist then launches the HENRY Helpline - a counselling service offering support for HENRYs when they text ‘GILET’ to 80800.

The content series is part of IG’s broader call for reform. Earlier this month, the platform urged the government to index childcare and personal allowance thresholds to inflation, reverse the proposed salary sacrifice cap, and introduce a new UK equity scheme to encourage long-term investing.

Michael Healy, UK and Ireland Managing Director at IG Group, said: “A charity for people earning over six figures might sound ridiculous, but it’s no more ridiculous than policies that disincentivise people to work harder and progress. The financial concerns of this demographic are often overlooked, but they deserve a voice.

“The bold, humour-led video series is designed to draw attention to the illogical consequences of the current system, which we’ll continue to challenge with our wider campaign.”
