IG Share Dealing Refer a Friend Promotion

YOU CANNOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANY CONCURRENT PROMOTIONS, INCENTIVES OR PROMOTIONAL CODES. THE REFERRAL LINK MUST ONLY BE SHARED PRIVATELY WITH INDIVIDUALS WITH WHOM YOU HAVE A GENUINE PRIOR PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP.

Example Scenario 1:
Your Friend opens an IG Stocks and Shares ISA using your referral link, makes a first investment of £1,000  within 30 days. They maintain at least £1,000 invested for 3 full calendar months and submit their W-8BEN form before the Holding Period ends. Both conditions are met. You receive £100 cash and your Friend receives a randomly allocated share worth between £50 and £1,000 credited to their GIA at the end of the calendar month following the end of the Holding Period.

Example Scenario 2:
Your Friend opens an account but places first investment worth £500. They do not qualify as an Active Referral because the minimum first investment of £1,000 has not been met. Neither you nor your Friend will receive a reward.

Example Scenario 3:
Your Friend opens an account, places a first investment worth £1,000 within 30 days of account opening. Your Friend keeps this position(s) open but its value drops below £1,000 during the Holding Period due to market movement only. Your Friend fulfils the other requirements of this Promotion. Both you and they will qualify for the rewards under this Promotion. 

Example Scenario 4:
Your Friend qualifies as an Active Referral and completes the Holding Period but fails to submit their W-8BEN form before the deadline. Their entitlement to the Free Share lapses and it will not be credited.

Example Scenario 5:
Your Friend places their first qualifying investment on 16 August 2026. The 3 month Holding Period runs from 16 August 2026 and ends on 30 November 2026. Your Friend maintains at least £1,000  average invested balance throughout the Holding Period and meets all other conditions. The reward is issued at the end of the calendar month following the end of the Holding Period, i.e. at the end of December 2026.

Example Scenario 6:
Your Friend places their first qualifying investment on 31 August 2026. The 3 month Holding Period runs from 31 August 2026 and ends on 30 November 2026. Your Friend maintains at least £1,000 average invested balance throughout the Holding Period and meets all other conditions. The reward is issued at the end of the calendar month following the end of the Holding Period, i.e. at the end of December 2026.

1.) These terms and conditions apply to the IG Share Dealing Refer a Friend Promotion (the "Promotion"). By participating in the Promotion, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions as well as the Customer Agreement for your IG account. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions conflicts with any provision of the Customer Agreement, the Customer Agreement shall prevail. 

2.) The Promotion is organised by IG Trading and Investments Limited, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (register number 944492) and whose registered address is Cannon Bridge House, 25 Dowgate Hill, London EC4R 2YA.

3.) In these Terms and Conditions:

"Active Referral" means a Friend who has opened an eligible Account via your unique referral link generated in MyIG Refer a Friend dashboard, placed a Qualifying Investment on the Account within 30 days of the Account being opened;

"Account" means an IG share dealing (GIA), stocks and shares ISA or SIPP account;

"Average Invested Value" means the arithmetic average of the daily value of investments held in the Account during the Holding Period, calculated by summing the value of such investments at the close of each day in the Holding Period and dividing by the total number of days in that period.

"Free Share" means a randomly allocated US-listed share with an approximate value of between £50 and £1,000 credited to the Friend's GIA in accordance with clause 9;

"Friend" means the individual referred by you under this Promotion;

"GIA" means a UK General Investment Share Dealing account with IG;

"Holding Period" means the period of 3 full calendar months from the date of the Friend's Qualifying Investment in the Account;

"ISA" means a UK Individual Savings Account with IG;

"Qualifying Investment" has the meaning given to it in clause 8B;

"SIPP" means a Self-Invested Personal Pension with IG.

4.) To qualify for the Promotion, the person making the referral ("you") must:

A. have placed at least one investment on an Account (other than an IG Smart Portfolio account) with IG Markets Limited, IG Index Limited or IG Trading and Investments Limited;

B. be a direct retail client of IG; and

C. be an individual and resident in the UK.

5.) This Promotion applies only to IG's share dealing and investing products (GIA, Stocks and Shares ISA and SIPP) and does not include IG Smart Portfolios. If you have any other introduction or introduction-type arrangement with IG or any IG group company, any referrals thereunder will not qualify for this Promotion.

6.) You must have an existing business or personal relationship with the person you would like to refer (your Friend). Your Friend must be:

A. an individual who is 18 years or older and resident in the UK;

B. a new client to IG (not having previously held an account with IG or any other IG group company); and

C. not residing at the same address as you.

7.) To participate in the Promotion, you must share the unique URL provided to you as part of this Promotion privately with Friends who may be interested in IG's share dealing, stocks and shares ISA or SIPP products. Referral links may only be shared privately with individuals with whom you have a genuine prior personal or professional relationship. Sharing via public social media posts, forums, affiliate-style websites, newsletters or any other public channel is strictly prohibited and will result in the referral being voided and the referrer being disqualified from the Promotion. The number of rewards you can earn under this Promotion is capped at a maximum of 10 Active Referrals per calendar month. The monthly cap resets at the start of each calendar month.

8.) To qualify as an Active Referral your Friend must:

A. open an Account via your unique referral link generated in MyIG Refer a Friend dashboard within 3 months of being referred;

B. place a first investment of at least £1000 (a “Qualifying Investment”) on the Account within 30 days of it being opened; and

C. maintain at least an Average Invested Value of least £1000 invested during the Holding Period.

9.) All accounts are subject to our standard account opening criteria and jurisdictional restrictions. Not all applicants will be successful.

10.) If your Friend becomes an Active Referral and satisfies all conditions of the Promotion including the Holding Period, you will receive £100 credited to your default IG investment account and your Friend will receive one Free Share credited to their GIA. The Free Share will be credited by the end of the calendar month following  the Holding Period. The Free Share will be randomly allocated from the list of US-listed stocks in Table 1 below, subject to the weighted probability distribution in Table 2 below. The Free Share will be credited to the Friend's GIA regardless of the Account type on which the qualifying conditions were met. If the Friend does not hold a GIA at the time the Free Share is to be credited, they must open a GIA in order to receive the Free Share. Failure to hold or open a GIA before the end of the Holding Period will result in the Free Share being withheld and the Friend's entitlement to the reward lapsing.

11.) To qualify for the Free Share, your Friend must maintain an Average Invested Value of at least £1,000 in their Account throughout the Holding Period. If the Average Invested Value falls below £1,000 , the Friend will not qualify for the Free Share and neither party will receive a reward under this Promotion unless such fall in Average Invested Value is caused by market fluctuations alone.

12.) The Free Share is a US-incorporated security and will be denominated in USD. The Friend must complete and submit a valid W-8BEN form (or other applicable US tax documentation) to IG before the end of the Holding Period. The W-8BEN form certifies non-US tax residency status and is required under US tax regulations. If the Friend does not provide the required documentation by this deadline, IG reserves the right to withhold the Free Share and the Friend's entitlement to the Promotion shall lapse.

13.) As the Free Share is a US-incorporated security denominated in USD, the value of the Free Share in GBP will be subject to the exchange rate applied by IG on the date it is credited to the Friend's GIA. In accordance with the Customer Agreement for your Share Dealing Account, the Friend may be liable for foreign exchange fees in respect of the Free Share. 14.) As the value of shares fluctuates according to market conditions, the value of the Free Share at the time it is credited to the Friend's GIA may be slightly more or less than the approximate value band indicated in Table 2 below. The Friend shall not be entitled to any cash adjustment in the event the Free Share is credited at a value that differs from the band indicated.

15.) The Free Share is subject to market risk. Its value may increase or decrease and the Friend may receive less than its value at the time of award if sold. The Free Share does not constitute financial advice or a recommendation to invest in any particular security. The value of investments can fall as well as rise and the Friend may get back less than they invest.

16.) The Free Share will be randomly allocated from the following list of US-listed stocks

17.) If any restrictions apply to your or your Friend's account, the referral will not qualify as an Active Referral until the restrictions have been lifted. If your or your Friend's account is closed for any reason before the end of the Holding Period, the referral will not qualify for this Promotion and neither party will receive a reward.

18.) You cannot refer yourself via a joint account, refer a member of your household, or refer a person residing at the same address as you. You also cannot refer a Friend if you hold a power of attorney over their Account.

19.) An individual may only be referred once. If an individual has already been referred to an IG group company, they cannot be referred again.

20.) The Promotion is not open to employees of IG or any IG group company or employees of any other company engaged in direct competition with IG.

21.) IG reserves the right to remove or substitute the Free Share at its sole discretion and without prior notice.

22.) The Promotion and any obligations of IG pursuant to it will be revoked or withdrawn from participants who abuse the spirit or intention of it. We reserve the right to cancel or withdraw the Promotion at any time for any reason, including in case of any suspected abuse of the Promotion. Further, where any of these Terms and Conditions are breached, if we believe that any of the terms of your Customer Agreement with us have been breached in any way, you no longer have an account with IG or there is any reason to suspect a participant has acted fraudulently or obtained an unfair or unintended advantage pursuant to this Promotion, we reserve the right to stop, withhold or cancel payment of the reward or to prevent any attempted withdrawal of the reward from your account.

23.) You may not take advantage of concurrent promotions offered by IG or IG Group. If you participate in multiple promotions, you shall be deemed eligible only for the one you began to participate in first. The Refer a Friend Reward cannot be combined with any other IG reward promotions.

24.) We are the sole arbiter of the Promotion, these Terms and Conditions and any other issues arising under this Promotion. Exceptions to these Terms and Conditions are at our sole discretion, and our decision is final. We reserve the right to alter, amend or terminate the Promotion or any aspect of it (including the Terms and Conditions) at any time and without prior notice.

25.) We will not be held liable for any losses incurred by you or your Friend as a result of your (or their) trading or in relation to this Promotion except where such loss is a result of our negligence or wilful misconduct. All trading involves risk. The value of shares, ETFs and ETCs bought through a share dealing account, a stocks and shares ISA or a SIPP can fall as well as rise, which could mean getting back less than you originally put in. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Please ensure you fully understand the risks and take care to manage your exposure.

26.) We will not be held liable for your or your Friend's inability to satisfy the eligibility requirements of the Promotion or ability to trade as the result of any technical malfunction of the internet, IG's trading platform, or your or your Friend's own computing system. You and your Friend accept all risks associated with trading over the internet, mobile applications, and downloadable software.

27.) Any dispute or situation not covered by these Terms and Conditions will be resolved by IG's management in a manner it deems to be fairest to all concerned and that decision will be final and binding on all parties.

28.) If any tax is payable on a Refer a Friend reward you receive under this Promotion, this tax will be your or your Friend's liability and will not be incurred by us. If the law requires us to withhold this tax and settle with the relevant tax authority on your or your Friend's behalf, then we shall credit the reward to the relevant account net of this tax.

29.) If at any time all or any part of any provision of these Terms and Conditions are or become illegal, invalid or unenforceable in any respect under the law of any jurisdiction, such provision(s) will not affect or impair the legality, validity or enforceability in that jurisdiction of the remainder of that provision or all other provisions of these Terms and Conditions.

31.) These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
