Gold rallies while oil struggles to move higher
While oil is unable to hold on to gains, gold has continued its move higher, targeting a break above $1840.
Gold still aiming to break $1840
The rally here continues, as the price looks to make another attempt to break $1840. A breakout above this higher high would be a fresh positive development for the bulls, and open the way to $1860. Sellers were unable to hold the price below $1820, so a drop below this would be needed to suggest a further retracement.
WTI drifts lower
In contrast oil is still out of favour, falling back towards rising trendline support after the push above $66 fizzled out. However, a drop below $62 is needed to revive a bearish view, while a bounce that clears $66 puts the buyers back in charge.
