Gold edges up as oil moves up from higher low
Gold prices have edged higher while oil is still firmly in an uptrend.
Gold
Gold has picked itself up after the savage drop of the past two weeks, with a brief respite above $1765. The small bounce has a long way to go before we can be sure a new move back upwards is firmly underway, as at present this looks like an oversold rebound. These can go quite far, but buyers will likely be cautious after the last few sessions.
WTI
Having clocked up a new higher high at the beginning of the week the price has faded, but a higher low looks to be in the offing, which will leave the price primed for further gains. It would take a drop back below $68.50 to suggest a more bearish short-term view is developing.
