EU lists Alphabet, Amazon and other tech giants as ‘gatekeepers’ under new rules

Now, one thing that's getting many tech companies hot under the collar, the EU Commission has designated 22 services of six major tech companies as gatekeepers of online services providing messaging to video sharing. Now, let's get you through the details. And who are these designated gatekeepers?
Well, they include Apple, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and ByteDance. These businesses, what will happen eventually is that the rules, the new rules will be required to make their messaging apps interoperate with rivals and let users decide which apps to pre-install on their devices.
