Undated commodities vs commodity futures
Trade commodities at our undated ‘spot’ or futures prices – both available through CFD trading. Your choice will depend on how long you intend to hold your position for.
Undated commodity markets
Take a position on the current value of a commodity with our proprietary ‘spot’ prices.
- Positions cost less to open, but will incur a fee if left open overnight
- Speculate on the underlying market price with no fixed expiries
- Perform technical analysis over the longer term with continuous charting
Commodity futures
Speculate on the underling price of silver futures contracts.

- Positions open at expiry will be rolled over unless you specify otherwise

The spread is our charge for executing your trade. It’s the difference between the buy and sell price, which we wrap around the underlying market price.

Spreads are subject to variation, especially in volatile market conditions. Our dealing spreads may change to reflect the available liquidity during different times of day. Our normal spread is shown in the table.
The charge will also vary depending on whether you trade futures or our undated contracts. Futures have a wider spread, but no overnight funding charges – so are more cost-effective for longer-term trades. Learn more about our spreads
CFDs are leveraged products, which means you can gain full exposure for the fraction of the cost. The deposit you pay to open a position is called margin. Although it’s not an additional cost to you, it can make a big difference to the affordability of your trade.
Remember, leverage can magnify your losses, as well as magnify any profits.
