This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently down 12 points at 6691.
FX and commodities: GBP/USD is up three points at $1.6806, EUR/USD is down three points at $1.3803 and USD/JPY is up one point at ¥102.33. Brent crude is down nine cents at $110.28 and gold is trading at $1292, down $1.
Stocks: British advertising and public relations company WPP, reported a 1.58% increase in its first-quarter revenue. Pearson revealed a 2% rise in first-quarter revenue, excluding its sales from the Mergermarket deal and its joint venture with Penguin.
The day ahead: UK retail sales and BBA mortgage approvals will be released at 9.30am, followed by eurozone services purchasing managers index at 2.45pm.
In the US, the University of Michigan consumer sentiment is due at 2.55pm.
