MT4 on macOS: what you need to know
With us, you can now download and install MT4 directly on your macOS. This means that, as our client, you can run MT4 on your Mac without the need for additional software like Boot Camp, Parallels Desktop or Wine. The signup and download process is the same as if you were using a Windows PC.
How to download and install MT4 on Mac
- Create a live account with us for CFDs
- Visit your ‘My IG’ dashboard and click on ‘Add an account’

4. Give your consent for apps to be downloaded from identified developers. To do this, head to your Mac’s ‘System Preferences > Security and Privacy’ and select ‘Allow apps to be downloaded from: App Store and identified developers’
5. Download MT4
6. Open ‘MetaTrader4.dmg’ from your ‘Downloads’ folder and drag the MT4 icon to your ‘Applications’ folder
7. Go to your ‘Applications’ folder and open the programme. You can now sign in with your IG account credentials
