Career highlight:

When a macro theme you’ve been following for a long time actually starts to play out in the market. Few things beat the feeling when central banks, liquidity, and market psychology suddenly click together, and the price starts moving accordingly.

Book recommendation: The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel. It reminds us that investing is rarely just about Excel models—it’s about behavior, patience, and surviving to the next opportunity.

Experience

Patrick Thomenius has worked in the financial markets for over a decade. During his career, he has worked as a stockbroker, giving him a broad understanding of how capital moves through financial systems.

Alongside his professional career, Patrick has been deeply involved in association work. For many years, he held prominent roles within Unga Aktiesparare and Aktiespararna, where he was, among other things, a host for the UA podcast and contributed to educating and inspiring the next generation of investors. Patrick also founded the World Federation of Young Investors, which he led for several years.

Patrick is particularly known for his ability to break down complex macroeconomic relationships and connect them to concrete investment opportunities. His analyses often focus on the interplay between global liquidity, central bank policy, and market structure—factors that largely drive developments in the equity and commodity markets.

In his analytical work, he combines a macro perspective with a deep interest in small and medium-sized companies, where he often analyzes everything from business models and intellectual property rights to technological development and research. This combination of top-down analysis and company-specific research forms the basis for many of his market commentaries and trading ideas.
