Other important information

  • We do not charge for broker-to-broker transfers to your IG share dealing or ISA accounts
  • If transferring US stocks, please ensure you have a valid W-8BEN form
  • Your ISA allowance/subscription will be amended according to the ISA history form sent from your previous broker. If you believe the amount to be incorrect you will need to contact your previous broker
  • If you have an ISA with us as well as with another broker, it’s your responsibility to ensure the consolidated amount subscribed does not exceed your £20,000 allowance per financial year
  • We aim to complete your transfer within 14 working days, but this is dependent on your transferring broker as well as the volume of transfers we’re busy with
  • You may have to liquidate certain shares by contacting your delivering broker if we cannot offer them. To make sure we offer specific shares before requesting a transfer, you can view our regularly-updated shares list which can be found on our main share dealing page
  • Any residual cash (cash balance not being used) which is a part of the transfer will be transferred via BACs, after the settlement of all shares.
  • Please ensure that you do not place any trades until your transfer is completed.
  • We currently do not accept delisted/suspended/ OTC stocks, bonds or mutual fund transfers.
  • If you wish to transfer SIPPs, ETFs, or EFCs, please email helpdesk.uk@ig.com with the details and we will advise accordingly
