FAQs

What is Zero Hour?

Zero Hour is a promotional offer that provides reduced spread in tier 1 sizes on Australia 200 cash contracts between 10 - 11am on Mondays (AEDT) between 1 December 2025 and 31 May 2026. It's designed to give you the best spread in market on the Australia 200 cash contracts when you trade in tier 1 sizes during the promotional period.

This promotion only applies to trades executed through the IG mobile app or through IG's web trading platform. It does not apply to trades executed through third-party platforms, such as those provided by Metatrader (i.e. MT4 and MT5).

Other markets or Australia 200 future contracts are not included within this promotion.

When is Zero Hour available?

Zero Hour runs for one hour immediately from Australian market open on Mondays between 10 - 11am AEDT. For example, on a Monday between 1 December 2025 and 31 May 2026, the promotion runs from 10am to 10:59am AEDT and will be communicated via email, SMS, push notification, and in-app messaging. IG Australia clients need to enable IG notifications and opt in to marketing communications within their marketing preferences to receive marketing messages.

Who is eligible for Zero Hour?

All existing Australian IG CFD trading account holders and any new IG clients opening CFD accounts are eligible. You must meet our standard Target Market Determination (TMD) requirements for retail clients and hold an active CFD account at the time you place your eligible trades.

What spreads do I get during Zero Hour?

Zero Hour offers 0.0 spread in tier 1 sizes on Australia 200 cash contracts. Other markets or Australia 200 future contracts are not included within this promotion.

How do I access the promotional spreads?

When the promotional window is active, the reduced spreads automatically become available as selectable options on your deal ticket. If your trade size fall within tier 1 size, a pricing table will not appear, and you will get 0.0 spread if you trade within the Zero Hour. If you are trading large sizes, a pricing table will appear on the deal ticket and show the size threshold and spread payable for each tier. For more information on price in size, check out the video here. No special registration or additional steps are required.

What happens to my spread after Zero Hour ends?

When the one-hour promotional window closes, the special pricing tiers expire and spreads revert to our standard spread. Any new trades after the promotional window closes will be at our standard spread.

What is the difference between Zero Hour and standard trading?

Zero Hour provides all IG clients access to temporary, reduced spread during a specific one-hour window between 10am-11am AEDT on each Monday between 1 December 2025 and 31 May 2026. Standard spread applies outside this promotional window. Your account, funding, and trading process operate normally. All trading involves the same inherent risks whether during Zero Hour or standard trading hours.

How will I know when Zero Hour is happening?

To ensure you receive our Zero Hour updates, you'll need to accept marketing communications within your My IG Settings (this applies to email, SMS, and push notifications) and enable notifications on your mobile app.

We'll communicate Zero Hour timing through multiple channels including email, SMS, push notifications, in-app messaging and our website. Once the promotion begins, in your IG trading platform you will find the reduced spread tier within the deal ticket for Australia 200 cash  contracts. You'll receive notification well ahead of each event so you can plan accordingly. The promotion is only available during the specified one-hour window, so mark your calendar.

Are there any restrictions on the markets or products I can trade during Zero Hour?

Zero Hour applies exclusively to Australia 200 cash contracts. The promotional spreads are not available on other markets. If you normally trade other instruments you can continue to do so with standard spreads while Zero Hour pricing is available on Australia 200 cash contracts.

All trading involves risk. What should I do before participating?

Before trading during Zero Hour or any other time, ensure you understand the risks involved in CFD trading. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose, and consider using risk management tools such as stop losses. Review our Product Disclosure Statement and Target Market Determination documentation.
