Refer up to five friends to trade shares or CFDs with us and receive up to AU$250 per friend, up to a total of AU$1,250.
How can I start making referrals?
Log in to My IG , click on the ‘Settings’ tab and select ‘Refer a Friend’ from the menu
Share the unique referral link with your friends
Receive AU$250 for each friend that successfully opens a CFD account and completes all the necessary requirements1 or receive AU$50 for each friend that successfully opens a share trading account and completes all the necessary requirements1

If your friend opens both a CFD account and a Share Trading account with us, your friend will be considered to be an ‘active referral’ only in relation to whichever account they place one qualifying trade in first, and subject to any other restrictions outlined in the Terms & Conditions, which can be found here.
When referring friends to trade CFDs with us, please remember that CFDs are high risk products and not appropriate for everyone. Please ensure your friends are within IG's target market by referring to our Target Market Determination before sharing the referral link with them.
What are the requirements?
For you (the Referrer)
- You must have an active CFD or Share Trading account with us
- You’ll need a Share Trading account to receive your reward
- You must be an individual and direct Client of IG
- You must have an existing relationship with the individual you will be referring
Your friend (the Referee)
- Must be an individual who is 18 years old or over
- Your friend must be a new client to IG (not having previously held an account with IG or any other IG group company)
- Must open a Share Trading or CFD account with IG through the unique URL shared by you
- Make one ‘qualifying trade2’ of any product within six months of being referred

FAQs
When will I receive my reward?
You’ll receive your AU$250 or AU$50 trading credit in your IG Share Trading account within 90 days of your friend completing their one qualifying trade on their CFD account or share trading account.
How do I check my referral status?
Once your friend has signed up for an account, you’ll receive an email notifying you that you’re in the referral scheme. After this, you can log in to MyIG from your desktop, click on the ‘settings’ tab at the top of the page and select ‘refer a friend’ to view your referral status. You’ll also receive an email once your friend has successfully opened a live account.
Will the referral expire?
Yes. Once any of your friends opens an account, they have six months to make one qualifying trade.
How do I claim a referral reward?
Within 90 days of Your Friend becoming an Active Referral you will receive a reward credited to your IG Share Trading account in an amount set out below (each a “Refer a Friend Reward”):
- If Your Friend qualifies as an Active Referral in relation to a CFD account, you will receive a Refer a Friend Reward of AUD250;
- If Your Friend qualifies as an Active Referral in relation to a Share Trading account, you will receive a Refer a Friend Reward of AUD50
You will only receive a Refer a Friend Reward in respect of the first five of your referrals to qualify as Active Referrals. The maximum you can earn under this Promotion is AUD1250 if all of those Active Referrals are in relation to CFD Accounts.
Is there a time limit to claim the credits I’ve earned?
No, there is no time limit or expiry for all the trading credits you’ve earned.
I have a restriction on my account. Can I still refer a friend?
No, if any restrictions apply to your account or the account of your friend, the referral will not qualify until the restrictions have been lifted. Any restrictions that apply to an account will be notified to the account holder by email. The referral will not qualify as an active referral if your account or the account of your friend is closed for any reason.
Can I get my reward paid to my IG CFD account?
No, rewards awarded under the promotion will be credited to your share trading account only. We will not credit rewards to your CFD account.
Can I refer the same friend more than once?
No. You can only refer an individual to IG once. If you have referred an individual to any IG group company, you cannot refer the same individual again to another company in the IG group.
Can I refer friends for both share trading and CFDs?

2A ‘qualifying trade’ means:
• in respect of a CFD account, a CFD with a minimum size of one mini contract or equivalent on which commission has been paid; and
• in respect of a Share Trading account a trade with a minimum total parcel size of AUD$500
• (in either case subject to any applicable promotional offers). CFD trades subject to a commission free period will not be qualifying trades.
