2025

UK summer bank holiday (AEST)

Monday 25 August

  • UK equities, index futures, soft commodities and interest rates will be closed
  • Brent Crude and London Gas Oil will be open as normal. UK Natural Gas futures will be closed
  • New York Cocoa, Coffee and Sugar contracts will open at 9.30pm
  • We’ll be making an out-of-hours price on the FTSE until futures re-open at 10am on Tuesday
  • There will be no LBMA Gold Fix on 25 August

US Labor Day (AEST)

Monday 1 September

  • US equities and soft commodities will be closed

Tuesday 2 September

  • The VIX will close at 1.30am 
  • London Sugar will close at 2am 
  • US Index futures will close at 3am. We’ll offer out-of-hours pricing from 3am until 6am. Futures will re-open at 8am 
  • US interest rates will close early at 3am  
  • Brent Crude, London Gas Oil and ICE WTI will close early at 3.30am 
  • US metals and energies will close early at 4.30am 
  • European indices will close at 6am and reopen at 8am 

 

 

Thanksgiving (AEDT)

Thursday 27 November

  • US equity markets are closed
  • US soft commodities are closed
  • Lumber and Livestock are closed

Black Friday (AEDT)

Friday 28 November

  • The Volatility Index (VIX) closes at 3.30am and reopens at 10am 
  • London Sugar closes at 4am
  • US interest rates close at 5am 
  • US index futures close at 5am. We'll offer out-of-hours prices on Wall Street, US 500, US Tech 100 and US Russell 2000 until 8am
  • Brent Crude, London Gas Oil and UK Natural Gas will close at 5.30am
  • US metals and energies will close at 6.30am 
  • US equity markets reopen at 12pm
  • Normal trading hours on New York Sugar, New York Coffee and New York Cocoa

Saturday 29 November

  • New York Cotton opens at 12am. New York Cotton and Orange Juice close at 5.30am
  • US grain futures open at 1.30am and close at 5.05am 
  • Lumber trades from 2am to 5.05am and Livestock trades from 1.30am to 5.05am 
  • US equity markets close at 5am, and there'll be no post-market trading
  • The Volatility Index (VIX) closes at 5.15am
  • US index futures close at 5.15am. We'll offer out-of-hours prices on Wall Street, US 500, US Tech 100 and US Russell 2000 until 8am 
  • Brent Crude, London Gas Oil and UK Natural Gas will close at 7am
  • US rates and the US Dollar Index close at 5.15am 
  • US metals and energies will close at 6.45am
  • The futures desk and all 24-hour indices close at 8am and FX closes at 9am

Christmas and seasonal trading hours (AEDT)

Wednesday 24 December

  • Gilts and 3M-SONIA stop trading at 11.15pm
  • UK agricultural commodities close at 11.23pm
  • UK half day, equities close early at 11.30pm
  • The FTSE 100 Index will be quoted out-of-hours from 11.50pm until 5.15am, next day
  • European indices either closed or half-day
  • AU/ASX shares stop trading at 2.10pm
  • Australia 200 futures close at 2.30 pm. IG will continue to price out-of-hours until 5:15am the next day 

Thursday 25 December

  • UK and EU Natural Gas stop trading at 4am
  • All US equities close early at 5am
  • Cotton, Arabica Coffee, New York Cocoa, Lumber, Orange Juice and Grains close early at 5.05am
  • VIX, US indices, Rates, Bonds and Livestock close early at 5.15am
  • All other out-of-hours markets close at 5.15pm
  • US Energies and Metals close early at 5.45am
  • Brent Crude, ICE WTI, London Gas Oil close at 6am
  • FX closes at 9am
  • AU/ASX shares are closed

Friday 26 December

  • FX markets reopen at 8am
  • Out-of-hours markets, US rates, US metals, US energies and the VIX reopen at 10am
  • 24 hour US Equities re-open for trading at 12pm
  • NY Coffee, NY Cocoa, NY Sugar and Cotton open late at 11.30pm.
  • UK markets are closed (except for Brent Crude, ICE WTI, Heating Oil and London Gas Oil which will follow regular hours).
  • Hong Kong markets are closed
  • AU/ASX shares are closed. IG to price out of hours from 10am

Saturday 27 December

  • Grains and livestock reopen at 1:30am
  • European indices are closed and will be quoted out-of-hours until 9am
  • FX closes at 9am
  • Weekend markets will be available

Sunday 28 December

  • Weekend markets will be available

Monday 29 December, Tuesday 30 December

  • Normal trading hours

Wednesday 31 December

  • FX closes at 9am

Friday 2 January

  • FX markets reopen at 8am
  • Out-of-hours markets, US rates, US metals, US energies and the VIX reopen at 10am
  • Grains open at 1:30am, next day
  • Japanese markets are closed
  • Normal trading hours resume in other markets
