2026

Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) to Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)

As of Sunday 5 April 2026, Australia moves from Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) to Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

General market changes (in AEST)

  • US and Canadian equities (including equity options) will trade between 11:30pm and 6am (the next day)

  • "24 Hours" Shares will trade from 10:00 AM Monday to 8:00 AM Saturday.

  • Funding Times: For markets where funding is applied for positions held through 10pm UK time, funding will be applied for positions held through 7am (AEST)

Starting from Friday 10 April 2026

  • FX markets, Cryptocurrencies, Commodities, 24-hour index markets and the dealing desk will close at 7am (next day)

Starting from Saturday 11 April 2026

  • Cryptocurrencies and weekend markets will open at 5pm

Good Friday and Easter (AEST)

Friday 3 April 2026

  • Australian, Hong Kong, Singaporean, European and US equity markets will be closed

  • European and US commodities will be closed

  • Rates and bonds will be closed

Saturday 4 April 2026

  • The Volatility Index (VIX) closes at 12:30AM

  • 24-hour index markets will close at 12:15am*

  • Cryptocurrencies and Weekend Markets will be open as normal

Sunday 5 April 2026

  • Cryptocurrencies and Weekend Markets will be open as normal

Monday 6 April 2026

  • FX opens at 6am.

  • US and 24-hour index markets open at 8am

  • Australian, Hong Kong and European indices will be quoted out of hours

  • Australian, Hong Kong and European equity markets will be closed

  • New York Sugar, Coffee and Cocoa – late open at 8:30pm

Tuesday 7 April 2026

  • Australian, HK and European equities will re-open

  • Hong Kong equities will be closed

Wednesday 8 April 2026

  • Hong Kong equities: Re-open

*Japan 225, Tokyo First Section, Singapore Blue Chip, Taiwan and China A50 will be quoted in-hours and close later in the day.
