South African residents over the age of 18 are allowed to transfer funds offshore within the following annual thresholds:
Full single discretionary allowance of up to R1 million per year
Foreign investment allowance of up to R10 million per year
Bank transfer deposits:
There are no minimum or maximum deposit amounts for bank transfers, save for the above allowances. Note that it can take one to three business days for your funds to reflect in your account.
If you want to pre-credit your account urgently after a bank transfer (eg when you’ve received a margin call) you can upload proof of payment.
