This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently down 15 points at 6858.
FX and commodities: GBP/USD is up 43 pips at $1.6867, EUR/USD is up 15 pips at $1.3718 and USD/JPY is down 12 pips at ¥102.12. Brent crude is up 26 cents at $109.52 and gold is trading at $1298, up $4.75.
Stocks: The second day of questioning for the Pfizer chief executive officer has grabbed much of the headlines this morning. The FTSE has seen 15.6 points taken out of it because of companies going ex-dividend today. Also reporting today are Admiral, British Land Company, Compass Group, St James's Place Capital and Unilever.
The day ahead: The UK inflation report will be released this morning along with the UK unemployment rate. Later in the morning Bank of England governor Mark Carney will be speaking. This afternoon will see the US inflation PPI figures along with the Deutsche Bundesbank president Jens Weidmann speaking.
