This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently up 90 points at 6648.
FX and commodities: GBP/USD is down 18 pips at $1.6127, EUR/USD is up 13 pips at $1.3532 and USD/JPY is up 80 pips at ¥98.75. Brent crude is up 37 cents at $110.99 and gold is trading at $1371, up $7.
Stocks: Gulf Keystone Petroleum reported a first-half loss of $26.4 million, which compares with a loss of $31.4 million for the same period last year. ASOS announced a 47% increase in quarterly revenue.
The day ahead: UK retail sales are due at 9.30am, followed by industrial order expectations at 11am. In the US, jobless claims will be released at 1.30pm, followed by existing home sales, the Philladelphia Fed index and Conference Board leading index at 3pm.
