FX and commodities: GBP/USD is up 27 pips at $1.5128, EUR/USD is up 35 pips higher at $1.3097 and USD/JPY is up two pips at ¥98.88. Olie - Brent Crude is down 17 cents at $107.88 and gold is trading at $1282, up $2.
Stocks: Rio Tinto has announced a record iron ore production level in the first half of this year.
The day ahead: In Europe, UK CPI, PPI and RPI are due out at 9.30am, followed by German ZEW economic sentiment at 10am. Eurozone CPI, trade balance and ZEW sentiment are also due out at 10am. Paul Fisher of the Band of England is speaking at 11.30am (all London times).
In the US, CPI is due out at 1.30pm, followed by industrial production at 2.15pm. Esther George of the Federal Reserve is speaking at 7.15pm (all London times).
