Step 1: Verify Alert Settings
Ensure that alerts are enabled in your account settings:
Log in to My IG on desktop or Mobile App
Navigate to Settings > Notification Settings > Price and Dealing Alerts
Confirm the toggle or checkbox is enabled
If already enabled, toggle it to disabled, then back to enabled to re-verify the setting has applied correctly
Step 2: Enable App Notifications on Your Device
Alerts rely on your device's notification permissions. Please check that notifications are enabled for the IG Trading app in your device settings.
iOS:
Open Settings
Tap Notifications
Select IG Trading and ensure notifications are turned on
Android:
Open Settings
Go to Notifications, or navigate to Settings > Apps > IG Trading > Notifications
Ensure notifications are turned on for the IG Trading app
Step 3: Test by Adding a New Alert
Set a test alert on an instrument of your choice within the IG Trading app
Wait for the alert condition to be met, or set the alert at a level close to the current price to trigger it sooner
Confirm that the alert notification is received on your device
If the test alert is received successfully, alerts are working as expected. If alerts that you have previously set still don’t trigger, it is worth setting up those alerts again.
Step 4: Reinstall the IG Trading App
If the test alert was not received, try the following:
Remove any active alerts you have set within the IG Trading app
Uninstall the IG Trading app from your device
Reinstall the IG Trading app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
Log back in and re-set your alerts
