Our partners, team Rosberg X Racing continue to sit a top the Extreme E championship by 16 points following their brilliant win this past weekend in the Island X Prix.

The race was the first European destination within the inaugural Extreme E series and the team delivered a thrilling performance. Sardinia’s landscape completely contrasted from the Arctic X Prix in Greenland and provided plenty of challenges including rocky terrain and limited visibility. However, team RXR well and truly overcame everything thrown at them. The team entered the Final placed in the fourth grid slot and they came through to take the win!

The weekend also saw the latest work in team RXR’s Driven by Purpose campaign. RXR, supported by IG Prime and other partners collectively donated €39,000 to the Italian Red Cross. The donation a contribution towards the current voucher system set in place for families who have been devastated by this past summer’s wildfires to help them rebuild their lives via making purchases at local partnership stores.

In July 2021, 13,000 more wildfires were recorded in Italy than ever before and have left vast areas damaged and people’s livelihoods dramatically changed.

IG Prime’s chief executive officer (CEO), Fouad Bajjali commented: “We are delighted to have been able to support Rosberg X Racing’s #DrivenByPurpose campaign this weekend in Sardinia. This project, in partnership with the Italian Red Cross, allows us to support those families affected by the recent wildfires in Sardinia which devastated so many. The work carried out by Nico Rosberg and the RXR team continues to empower and support local communities at each, and every race and we are proud to have been involved this weekend.”

The team continue their spectacular Extreme E journey December 18-19 on the Jurassic coast of Dorset, England.
