How do I transfer my shares or ISAs from IG to another broker?

Transfers of your investments from IG to another broker can differ depending on the location of your receiving broker.

To transfer to a UK-based broker, you’ll need to follow your receiving broker’s transfer-in process as they will need to initiate the transfer and contact us. For non-UK based brokers the transfer can be initiated from us, but it’s advised to contact your receiving broker to first see if the transfer can be facilitated.

Please inform your receiving broker to submit the transfer request to us via email only. We will not accept transfer requests sent via post.

You’ll also need to send an email from your registered email address to:

  1. isacashtransfers@ig.com - For all ISA cash transfers
  2. isastocktransfers@ig.com - For all the ISA Stock and Shares transfers
  3. giatransfers@ig.com - For all Non-ISA (General Investment account) transfers

Email should contain information as below:

  1. The full details of your transfer request
  2. Your 5-digit IG account ID of the account you are transferring from
  3. Your receiving account reference
  4. The direct email address of your receiving broker’s transfers team
  5. Dated wet signature – digital signatures will not be accepted.

Once received, we’ll update you via email accordingly. Please note that you may be out of the market for a period while the transfer takes place.

Important information

  1. Kindly ensure that you have cleared the negative cash balance on your transferring account to proceed with the transfer.
  2. If you wish to transfer from your SMART ISA account, please ensure you liquidate the stocks before your other provider submit the transfer request to us. Only cash transfers are allowed from SMART ISA Account to another provider. Please contact helpdesk on 0207 633 5559 to assist you with the liquidation.
