How do I withdraw funds and how long does it take?

You have two options to access your invested funds from your IG Smart Portfolio:

  1. Withdraw funds –withdraw a selected amount, up to your full investment
  2. Close your portfolio – withdraw your full investment

Once you’ve confirmed your request as per the steps below, we’ll sell the respective amount of your holdings at the next available opportunity. There’s a settlement period of two to three business days before the funds are available for withdrawal from your My IG dashboard.

Please note: we'll normally return money to the source by the same method it was paid. We may consider an alternative at our absolute discretion.

Withdrawing on desktop

1. Log in to your My IG dashboard and open your IG Smart Portfolio platform

2. Click on the menu icon at the top right-hand side and select ‘withdraw funds’

3. Enter the amount and click on ‘withdraw’. Please note that this is not the final step - you will need to wait two to three business days for us to sell the equivalent amount of ETFs and settle your funds into your trading account.

4. Once the funds have settled into your trading account and show as available to withdraw on your My IG dashboard, you can submit a withdrawal request from your My IG live accounts tab. Here you’ll be able to choose your withdrawal method.

Withdrawing on the mobile app

To withdraw from your IG Smart Portfolio on the mobile app, select ‘account’ at the bottom right of the app and click ‘withdraw’. Please note that this is not the final step - you will need to wait two to three business days for us to sell the equivalent amount of ETFs and settle your funds into your trading account. Once your funds have settled, you can submit a withdrawal request and select your withdrawal method.

How to close your portfolio

Closing an IG Smart Portfolio can only be performed from your My IG as the functionality is not available through the mobile app.

1. Log in to your My IG dashboard and open your IG Smart Portfolio platform

2. Click on the menu icon at the top right-hand side and select ‘close portfolio’

Once the funds have settled into your trading account after two to three business days, submit a withdrawal request from your My IG live accounts tab. Here you’ll be able to choose your withdrawal method.
