Understanding Your Account Structure
Your IG cryptocurrency account is designed to work seamlessly alongside your other IG accounts. Unlike traditional crypto exchanges, your crypto account does not hold cash directly. Instead:
Cash is held in your other IG accounts (Share Dealing, CFD, or Spread Bet)
When you buy crypto, you select which account to fund the purchase from
Cash is automatically transferred at the point of purchase
When you sell crypto, proceeds are deposited to your selected IG account
Important: All IG crypto clients must have at least one other IG account to hold cash. If you don't already have another IG account, we'll automatically create a Share Dealing account for you. |

When you sell cryptocurrency, the proceeds are automatically transferred to one of your other IG accounts (Share Dealing, CFD, or Spread Bet). You select which account receives the funds when you sell.
To withdraw funds to your bank account:
Sell your cryptocurrency holdings
Choose which IG account receives the proceeds
Go to that account (Share Dealing, CFD, or Spread Bet)
Request a withdrawal using your preferred method
Funds will be sent to your verified bank account or card
Important: You can only withdraw to bank accounts or cards you've previously deposited from. |

Stablecoin Exposure: Stablecoins like USDC are pegged to USD, which exposes you to GBP/USD exchange rate fluctuations when viewing in pounds
