Watchlists let you track the assets you care about. You can create custom watchlists, access system watchlists provided by IG, and customise what information is displayed.
New Clients - This section applies to clients who are new to IG and are using the app for the first time.

What watchlists are available by default?
When you first open the Watchlist tab, you will have a default watchlist called My Watchlist. A set of pre-made watchlists provided by IG are also available and switched on by default. You can toggle these on or off from the Customise watchlist screen.
How do I add an asset to a watchlist?

Tap the Search icon.
Search for your asset using the keyboard.
Tap the star icon next to the asset in the search results.
Select which watchlist you want to add it to.
From the asset details page
Tap on the asset to open its product details page.
Tap the star icon at the top of the page.
Select which watchlist you want to save it to.

Tap the plus symbol in the top left.
Enter a name and tap Create.
Add assets to your new watchlist.

Maximum 30 characters
No duplicate names — each watchlist name must be unique
No emojis
Only the special characters ' and ! are allowed
How do I customise my watchlist view?
Navigate to Watchlist.
Tap the pencil icon to open the Customise Watchlist screen.
Tap the pencil icon again to access rename and reorder options.
Toggle on the columns you want to see — for example: percentage change, asset price, or buy/sell prices.
Your watchlist view updates in real time as you toggle each option. Your customisation settings are saved automatically.
Note: You can only fully customise watchlists you have created yourself, or the default My Watchlist. Pre-made IG watchlists can be reordered but not otherwise customised.
How do I rename a watchlist?
Tap the pencil icon next to the watchlist name.
Tap the edit icon on the watchlist you want to rename.
Enter a new name in the Rename watchlist field.
Tap Save.
Note: You can only rename watchlists you have created yourself, or the default My Watchlist. Pre-made IG watchlists cannot be renamed. The same name rules apply - maximum 30 characters, no emojis, no duplicate names, and only ' and ! as special characters.
How many watchlists can I create?
You can create up to 50 watchlists in total.

What is Focus Mode?
Focus Mode allows you to filter the app by product type. Depending on the accounts available to you, you can use Focus Mode to view:
All products
Stocks — GIA, ISA, and JISA accounts
Cryptocurrency
When Focus Mode is enabled, watchlists update automatically to show only instruments relevant to the selected product type.
Does Focus Mode apply to watchlists?
Yes. Focus Mode applies to watchlists. If you are in Stocks mode, for example, you will only see stock instruments in your watchlist view.
If you switch to Cryptocurrency mode and your watchlist contains no crypto assets, you will see: There is no cryptocurrency instrument in this watchlist.
