What’s accepted as proof of payment?

Any proof of payment should be in a non-editable format (such as a screenshot or pdf of an online receipt) and must be uploaded on the same day as the transaction date. Make sure that the document contains:

  1. Your bank’s logo
  2. Your full name
  3. IG Bank’s bank details as the beneficiary of the transaction
  4. Your five-digit IG Bank account ID and full name as the reference
  5. The amount and currency
  6. The date of payment

If you’re new to IG Bank, you’ll need to fund your account and start trading before you can upload proof of payment.

Funds must come from a bank account in your name – we can’t accept third-party funding.

Each proof of payment is manually processed, which may take a few minutes, and is monitored from Sunday 10.30pm (Swiss time) until Friday at 11pm (Swiss time).

For new accounts, our proof of payment facility will be available within 24 hours of your first trade.

We may approve or reject your proof of payment at our absolute discretion. You’ll receive email confirmation of our decision.

Uploading your proof of payment

Desktop

To upload a proof of payment via desktop, log in to My IG on desktop, go to ‘live accounts’ and select ‘send proof of payment’.

Then, follow the instructions you see on the screen and click on ‘submit’.

Mobile

To upload a proof of payment on mobile, go to your account tab and choose the account you want to fund, select ‘payments’ then choose ‘send proof of payment’ and follow the onscreen instructions.
