Friday night in the US: The Dow Jones closed up  88 points at 16,924, the NASDAQ finished up 17 points at 3794 and the S&P 500 ended the day up nine points at 1949.

This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently up seven points at 6866.

FX and commodities: GBP/USD is up 20 pips at $1.6824, EUR/USD is up 15 pips at $1.3657 and USD/JPY is down five pips at ¥102.42. Brent crude is up 20 cents at $108.82 and gold is trading at $1255, up $1.

Stocks: Lloyds has stated the IPO price of TSB will be set between 220p and 290p. Man Group has acquired Pine Grove Asset Management for an undisclosed amount.

The day ahead: Eurozone sentix investor confidence is due out at 9.30am. We are not expecting any major economic updates from the US today.
