FTSE 100, DAX and Dow look primed for a potential push higher

FTSE 100, DAX and Dow show signs of a potential bullish push from here, but with reopening plans, the UK stocks appear to be outperforming for now

FTSE 100 continues to gain ground after resistance break

The FTSE 100 has been enjoying consistent gains since Tuesday’s break through the 6800-6811 resistance zone. There is much being made of just how far behind the recovery this index is in comparison to other major markets. Thus, bulls will feel confident here, with further upside looking likely as the index heads towards the 2021 peak of 6957. With that in mind, watch for this intraday trend to continue as we look for this recent breakout to persist. A break below 6860 would be required to raise questions over the longevity of this intraday uptrend.

DAX testing key resistance level after recent breakdown

The DAX has been trading around the key 15244 resistance level over the course of this morning, with the index looking to end the pullback that has been playing out over the course of this week thus far. Now that the DAX has ended the trend of lower highs, there is a good chance we will see a bullish resurgence from here. However, it probably makes sense to look for a push through 15244 to bring about a more confident bullish outlook. Conversely, if we see price break below the 15160, there is a good chance we will see the recent pullback continue.

Dow Jones attempts to break from recent pullback

A similar story for the Dow, with the index rising into 33522 resistance in what could be the beginning of the end for this recent pullback. Much like the DAX, we are starting to ease back from resistance, yet that could simply be a retracement before we push higher. As such, the index looks like it could have found the end of this recent retracement phase, with this pullback bringing a buying opportunity. However, with price having essentially created a flatlining high rather than broken heavily through 33522, there are still some questions that remain. As such, the true answer is more likely to come with the answer to whether we break 33522 or 33343 from here.
