If you hold shares in IG Share Dealing or ISA accounts, you can convert them to certificates if you wish to do so. This process is called Re-materialization. Shares held in ISA can be converted to certificates which means they will be removed from your ISA and the purchase price for future CGT calculations should be the market price on the day of removal which will be provided by us.
Process:
- Ensure you have an active and funded IG share dealing account or ISA Account
- Send an email from your registered email account with us to giatransfers@ig.com with below information:
- Client’s full Name
- IG Share Dealing or ISA Account Number
- Client’s Permanent Residential Address
- Name and Quantity of the stock to be transferred
- Provide confirmation that you accept that re-materialisation of these shares means they will be removed from your ISA and the purchase price for future CGT calculations should be the market price on the day of removal.
Important information
- We’ll deduct £100 (inclusive of VAT) per line of stock from your IG share dealing/ISA account and update you via email accordingly.
- IG cannot hold certificates in custody on your behalf, nor offer trading of certificated shares
- The process usually takes 3 to 6 weeks but may take longer as several parties are involved.
