Is there a minimum investment amount?

The minimum amount you can deposit is £250 by card and £50 by bank transfer. However, your IG Smart Portfolio account’s initial balance needs to be above £500 for us to start investing your funds. If you don’t have £500 upfront, then you can contribute to the portfolio in your own time. Once we’ve started investing your funds, any further deposits we receive will be automatically invested on the same business day between 8.30am and 4.30pm (UK time).

Is there a minimum holding period?

There’s no minimum holding period, and you can withdraw your money at any time through our online platform. Please note: our portfolios are based on a long-term investment strategy and aren’t designed to be used as a short-term investment option.
