Which Cryptocurrencies Are Supported for Transfers

Crypto transfers are executed on the blockchain and are irreversible once confirmed. IG cannot cancel, reverse, or recover a transfer where incorrect details have been provided.

You are responsible for ensuring all transfer details are accurate, including the wallet address, network, token, and any required destination tag or memo. Sending assets using incorrect details will result in permanent loss of funds.

Transfers are typically completed within 10–50 minutes but may take longer depending on blockchain network conditions. Delays due to network congestion are outside of IG’s control.

Before initiating a transfer, ensure you understand how crypto transfers work, including the risks associated with on-chain transactions.

Not all cryptocurrencies available to trade on IG are eligible for crypto transfers. Transfer eligibility is separate from trading availability — a token can be tradable on IG but not yet supported for Transfer In.

When you use the Transfer In feature in your IG account, you will only be able to select tokens that are currently supported. If a token is not shown as an option, it is not eligible for transfer at this time.

How many tokens are supported at launch?

The majority of tokens available on the IG platform are eligible for transfers. A smaller number are not yet supported, primarily because they are not currently covered by the blockchain monitoring systems IG uses for compliance purposes — not because they are untradable.

The number of supported tokens may increase over time as coverage expands. Check this article or contact our support team for the latest information.

Which tokens are not currently supported for transfers?

The following tokens are live on the IG platform but are not eligible for Transfer In at launch:

  1. ADA — Cardano
  2. DOT — Polkadot
  3. ATOM — Cosmos
  4. ICP — Dfinity
  5. APT — Aptos
  6. TIA — Celestia
  7. SEI — Sei
  8. STX — Stacks
  9. AKT — Akash Network
  10. ETC — Ethereum Classic
  11. XTZ — Tezos
  12. HBAR — Hedera
  13. VET — VeChain
  14. AXL — Axelar
  15. IOTX — IoTeX
  16. CGLD — Celo
  17. ZETA — ZetaChain
  18. FLR — Flare
  19. TAO — Bittensor
  20. S — Sonic
  21. BERA — Berachain
  22. STRK — Starknet
  23. USDC — USD Coin

Note: This list is subject to change. If a token becomes supported for transfers after launch, it will appear as an option in the Transfer In flow automatically.

Which tokens require a destination tag or memo?

Some tokens require an additional reference code — called a destination tag or memo — alongside the wallet address when sending. If a destination tag is required, it will be displayed on screen and must be included. Omitting it may result in funds not being credited or being delayed.

Tokens that currently require a destination tag or memo include:

  1. XRP — Ripple (Numeric tag)
  2. XLM — Stellar (Alpha-numeric memo)

Note: This list reflects current requirements. Always check the destination tag field shown in the IG app when initiating a transfer — requirements can vary by token and network.

Can transfer eligibility change after launch?

If you are unsure whether a token is currently supported, check the Which Cryptocurrencies Are Supported for Transfers article or contact our support team via Chat or WhatsApp.

Where can I see which tokens are currently supported?

The easiest way to check is directly in the IG app. When you select Transfer In, only currently supported tokens will be shown as options. If a token does not appear, it is not currently eligible for transfer.
