Help and Support

Do you offer proxy voting, AGM attendance or shareholder meeting participations?

IG does offer these services. Click on each below for further information:

Proxy voting:

With your IG share dealing account, you can buy global shares, which we then hold safely for you in our nominee account. And since we administer the account in which your shares are held, we act as nominee shareholder and can vote on your behalf at formal company meetings like AGMs.

We’ll send you notice of specific events where you can vote via proxy. You’ll then receive a notification email from global@proxyvote.com containing a control number, as shown below:

If you click on the ‘vote now’ button, you’ll be redirected to ProxyVote. Once there, you’ll be able to enter your control number, after which you’ll see all the available options related to the event.

To cast your vote, select your preferred option(s) and click on ‘submit vote’. Your vote will then be recorded.

AGM meetings:

When you buy stock using our share dealing service, your stock will be held in our nominee account. We can arrange AGM attendance for you on your behalf – the charge for this service is £100 plus VAT.

Once you’ve confirmed you are happy to accept this charge, you’ll need to provide:

  1. Your IG account number and full name
  2. The date and location of the company AGM
  3. Your settled positions, held on the record date announced for the meeting
  4. A passport or driving license number that you’ll be using when attending the AGM

You can send the above details via email to corporate.actions@ig.com or via post to:

Corporate Actions Department
IG Markets Limited
Cannon Bridge House
25 Dowgate Hill
London
EC4R 2YA

IG will need to have this information seven working days prior to the deadline date for attending the AGM, otherwise we will unfortunately be unable to facilitate your request. You’ll be able to find further details in the investor relations section of your chosen company’s website.

Shareholder meetings:

If you would like to attend a shareholder meeting for a stock that you hold in your share dealing account, we can arrange that on your behalf.

There will be a charge of £100 plus VAT for this service which would be deducted from your trading account. To take part, you’ll need to send us the following:

  1. Your IG account number
  2. Your full name and address
  3. Your settled positions, held on the record date announced for the meeting
  4. Your full instruction

You can send the above details via email to corporate.actions@ig.com or via post to:

Corporate Actions Department
IG Markets Limited
Cannon Bridge House
25 Dowgate Hill
London
EC4R 2YA

IG will need to have this information well in advance of the date of the shareholder meeting, otherwise we will unfortunately be unable to facilitate your request. You’ll be able to find further details in the investor relations section of your chosen company’s website.
