To comply with the UK Financial Promotions regime, you must pass an appropriateness assessment. This should only take 2-3 minutes. You will have two attempts before having to wait 24 hours to try again.

After opening your account, log in to My IG, then click on 'Take assessment' and follow the on-screen prompts

You will need to switch to your crypto account (Steps 1-3) then navigate to the accounts tab

Tap the 'Crypto' account card to expand the options

After switching to your crypto account by following the above steps, tap 'Account' in the navigation bar

Start the assessment by selecting 'Appropriateness assessment' and following the onscreen prompts

Once you have passed the appropriateness assessment, your account will be in a 24-hour cooling off period. You cannot make any trades during this time; however, you can view assets and fund your account (by card only for now).
Once your 24-hour cooling off period is complete, you will be able to trade crypto. You won’t receive an email, but will see a message like below when you sign into your app:
Click ‘Continue and trade crypto’ and you’re ready to start buying crypto.
