This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently up one point at 6584.
FX and commodities: GBP/USD is down 32 pips at $1.6698, EUR/USD is down eight pips at $1.3813 and USD/JPY is down eight pips at ¥101.77. Brent crude is down 40 cents at $108.73 and gold is trading at $1312, down $16.
Stocks: Rio Tinto reported a record first quarter for iron ore production. Aggreko posted a 5% increase in its first-quarter revenue, and SAB Miller revealed a 2% increase in its fourth-quarter revenue.
The day ahead: Today will see the UK consumer, retail and house price indices released at 9.30am, followed by German and eurozone ZEW at 10am.
In the US, the consumer price index and empire manufacturing are expected at 1.30pm, followed by a statement from Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen at 1.45pm.
