This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently down ten points at 6331.
FX and commodities: GBP/USD is down 18 pips at $1.5662, EUR/USD is up 14 pips at $1.3351 and USD/JPY is down 191 pips at Y94.11. Brent Crude is down 48 cents at $103.14 and gold is trading at $1386, down $3.
Stocks: Rio Tinto has agreed to sell a nickel mine for $325 million, as cost-cutting continues. Mulberry announced a 27% drop in full-year pre-tax profits. Home Retail announced higher quarterly sales at both Argos and Homebase.
The day ahead: In Europe, we are not expecting any major economic announcements. In the US, retail sales and initial jobless claims are due out at 1.30pm, followed by business inventories at 3pm (all London times).
