This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently down three points at 6544.
FX and commodities: GBP/USD is up 18 pips at $1.5649, EUR/USD is up two pips at $1.3179 and USD/JPY is up 35 pips at ¥99.44. Brent crude is down 29 cents at $115.83 and gold is trading at $1387, down $4.50
Stocks: A soft start is expected for Morrisons following press speculation that the company is once again set to post disappointing figures. Vodafone looks to be struggling to gain the 75% voter acceptance needed to acquire Kable Deutschland. Having seen the deal to sell off its branches and business to the Co-op collapse, Lloyds Banking Group will be looking to set about relaunching TSB. Associated British Foods has once again benefited from strong sales figures at its Primark arm.
The day ahead: It is a very thin day of economic data from the UK, Europe and the US. However, George Osborne will be talking about the current state of the UK economy throughout the day.
