IG adds economic alerts

You can now receive alerts on your phone for key economic events using IG's brand new Economic Calendar Alert feature.

Economic Calendar Alert

Our Economic Calendar provides up-to-date information on global economic events, and now you can recieve the key consensus and actual figures on our platform and your phone.

This allows you to follow important data releases, like the non-farm payrolls report, whilst you're on our trading platform, or on-the-go using your smart phone.

Setting it up

1. Log in to your live account (not applicable for demo accounts)

2. Select 'Research' tab from the top menu

3. Select 'Economic Calendar'

4. Click on the 'Alerts' feature within the calendar, and select your desired settings. (Note: ticking 'At time of event' will deliver the actual figures)

Receiving alerts on your phone

Once you have changed your Economic Calendar Alert settings, you will need to change the settings on your phone to receive notifications from the IG Trading app.

iPhone users will need to have our latest iOS7 installed, and 'Alerts' switched on for the app, as well as 'Show in Notification Center' and 'Show on Lock Screen', within your settings. The Economic Alert feature will not function by only selecting 'Banners'.
