Friday's US close: The Dow Jones closed down five points at 15,543, the NASDAQ finished down 23 points at 3587 and the S&P 500 ended up two points at 1692.

This morning in London: The FTSE 100 is currently down 14 points at 6616.

FX and commoditiesGBP/USD is up 47 pips at $1.5287; EUR/USD is up 13 pips at $1.3157 and USD/JPY is down 63 pips at Y100.01. Oil - Brent Crude is up 43 cents at $108.62 and gold is trading at $1316, up $19.

StocksBalfour Beatty has won an £80 million contract in central London.

The day ahead: There are no major economic announcements due in Europe today. In the US, Chicago Fed manufacturing is due out at 1.30pm, followed by existing home sales at 3pm. All figures as at 8.30am (London time).
