What's the difference between each digital 100s binary type?

Ladder

At expiry, will the market be higher or lower than your chosen levels?

Use a ladder when you think a market will move by a certain amount, but you aren’t sure in which direction.

Up/Down

Will the market be higher or lower at expiry?

Up/Downs are a type of ladder, but you decide whether the market will finish above or below a certain level.

One touch

Will the market hit a specific level before expiry?

One touches pay out if you’re right, even if the market price only stays there for seconds.

Target

At expiry, do you think the market will close within a specified range?

If you know both the direction and the level that a market will finish at, try target digital 100s.

Hi-Lo

Can you predict the range your market’s daily high or low will fall in?

Choose Hi-Lo digital 100s if you have an opinion on how volatile the market will be through the day.

Tunnel

Will the market remain between two chosen levels until expiry?

Use a tunnel to buy if you think markets will stay flat, sell if you expect them to hit one of the chosen levels.

How do digital 100 binaries work?

A binary is a limited-risk contract, generally based on a single question with a simple yes/no answer.

Eg. Will the underlying market do X before the binary expires?

If you're right at the time of expiry, you win. If you're wrong, you lose.

FAQs

How are digital 100 binaries priced?

Our digital 100s prices are based on the behaviour of an underlying market, but set by our dealing desk. Each digital 100 is priced between 0 and 100, according to three factors:

  • time to expiry
  • the underlying market’s current value
  • our expectation of future volatility

This means that if you think you’re a better judge of volatility than us, you have the opportunity to back your judgement.

How is max profit/loss calculated?

Profit or loss on a digital 100 is calculated by the difference between the price you enter into and the settlement price. The digital 100 settles at 0 if the digital 100 statement settles as incorrect and 100 if the digital 100 statement settles correct.

What special digital 100 can I trade?

We offer digital 100s on a number of major economic indicators, such as US non-farm payrolls and US initial jobless claims.

How are sprint markets different to digital 100s?

Sprint markets expire faster, starting with timeframes from just 60 seconds. They only answer one question (will the price finish above or below at expiry?), while there are many types of questions which can be answered by our different digital 100 types.
