IG at Big Game 7
Big Game 7’s sell-out crowd of 82,000 rugby fans witnessed non-stop action on and off the pitch.
Thousands of supporters made the most of the activities in the West Car Park before the match. Inspired by the IG Live Every Kick video – which provides an insight into the mindset of Harlequins’ fly-halves – hundreds tested their nerve and skill on the IG kicking simulator. The accuracy and power of each kick was recorded, generating a competitive leaderboard from which the top three kickers were selected to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
At halftime the players headed down the tunnel, paving the way for Harlequins supporters Dave Radcliffe, Craig Boreland and Callum Jones. Cheered on by the capacity crowd, the three fans took to the middle of the Twickenham pitch and punt kicked from 40 yards to celebrate IG’s 40th Birthday. Despite three good efforts, Dave, Craig and Callum were moved to the 22-metre line for another attempt.
IG offered to donate £500 to Big Game 7’s charity partner GOSH for each successful kick. However, with only Craig managing to clear the posts, IG donated £1,500 on behalf of each of the three competitors.
IG and Harlequins would like to extend a big thank you to everyone that took part, and congratulations again to our three worthy winners.
