How to buy and sell stocks online

Margin
CFDs are leveraged, so you can gain full exposure with just a small deposit, known as margin. The margin isn’t a cost to you, but it can make a big difference to the capital you require in opening a position. You wil need to ensure you have sufficient funds in your account to maintain this margin (taking into account any running profit and losses on your account) to keep your position open. Your profit and loss are based on the full value of the position – not just the margin – so be aware that leverage magnifies your profits, as well as your losses and your losses can exceed your deposits.

Commission
If you trade shares using CFDs, you’ll be dealing at the real market price. Instead of being charged a spread, you’ll pay a small commission to open and close your position.
